Obuasi Ashantigold Sporting Club Limited has scheduled a friendly game against division two side Still Hope FC today.
As part of their preparation for the CAF Confederation Cup Campaign which start on a fortnight, the Obuasi lads will today play a preparatory game at the team’s training center at Ofori Stadium in Obuasi at 9:00 am.
The miners will travel to Equatorial Guinea to face Akonangui FC in the first round of the preliminary stages of the Confederation Cup.
Ashgold won their previous game by 1-0 scoreline against Burkinabe league champions and FA Cup winners, Rahimo FC in an international friendly at the LenClay stadium in Obuasi.
The four-times Ghana Premier League Winners will be making their debut in this year’s competition since the inception of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2004 where two Ghanaian clubs played in the final which saw Accra Hearts of Oak becoming the first team to lift the giant trophy after beating their arch rivals Asante Kotoko on penalties after 2-2 aggregate scoreline in Kumasi.
