Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton drops Ayew as he names XI for Mexico game


Ghana’s Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has named his starting lineup for the international friendly game against Mexico today in the United States of America.

The Ghana gaffer has opted to use a new Center-back pairing for the game which starts in a few minutes time in America.

English Premier League giant Arsenal FC star midfielder Thomas Partey will lead Ghana against Mexico in today’s clash.

Switzerland Super League side FC St Gallen shot stopper Lawrence Ati-Zigi is in goal for Ghana as he’s still preferred over other goalies.


Germany based Stephan Ambrosius makes his first start for the Black Stars as he is named alongside Nicholas Opoku and Joseph Aidoo in a three back system that would see Gideon Mensah and Kingsley Schindler play as wing backs.


AJ Auxerre captain Elisha Owusu will partner Thomas Partey in central midfield while Mohammed Kudus operate behind Antoine Semenyo.

Kingsley Schindler starts the game as Joseph Paintsil also gets the nod ahead of darling boy Jordan Ayew in today’s match.

The game is scheduled for the Bank of America stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina at 9pm (1am Ghana Time).
