The Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) and its congregation demonstrated their commitment to community outreach by donating essential supplies valued at GhC 100,000.00 to three prisons in the Ashanti Region.
The generous gesture was aimed at assisting and uplifting the spirits of approximately five thousand inmates across the region.
The distribution of items encompassed the Kumasi Central Prison, including both male and female sections, as well as the Amanfrom and Manhyia Prisons. CCC’s Resident Pastor, Ps Joshua Obeng, expressed the church’s dedication to its mission of reaching out to the broader community, highlighting that October is a month when CCC focuses on evangelism throughout Kumasi City. This year, the church extended its outreach to prisons and hospitals.
“As a church, we firmly believe in extending our reach to those in need. Today, we are presenting food items, toiletries, and various consumables worth GHC 100,000.00 to three prisons: Kumasi Central, Manhyia, and Amanfrom Prisons. In addition to this, we will be conducting church services with the inmates, providing an opportunity to share the message of Christ Jesus with them,” explained Pastor Josh.
In an appeal to fellow Christians, Pastor Joshua urged them to offer support to prisoners and vulnerable individuals in society, emphasizing that this aligns with Christ’s teachings. He emphasized CCC’s dedication to fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission by ministering to the needs of those who have yet to embrace Christianity.
“As a church, our vision is to produce committed Christians who will fulfil Christ’s Great Commission. Therefore, we are engaging every member in our mission to provide relief to society,” Pastor Josh emphasized.
Rev Mrs. Stella Anku, Chaplain at the Kumasi Central Prisons, expressed gratitude to CCC’s leadership and members for their substantial donation and outreach efforts. She noted that the items and visits to the inmates were both timely and encouraging. Rev Anku pointed out that many prisoners rarely receive visitors, making such outreach activities and donations a crucial reminder that they are not forgotten.
“CCC has shown remarkable concern for our inmates, and the substantial volume of items provided to both the male and female prisons reflect the heartfelt generosity of its members. We pray that God continues to grant CCC the opportunity to win the souls of the people in Ashanti for Christ,” the Chaplain concluded.
The CCC’s outreach efforts serve as a testament to the impact that community involvement and support can have on those in need, fostering a sense of hope and unity among both church members and the broader community.
