City win ‘Proper Treble’ as Rodri’s goal secure first UEFA Champions League glory for Citizens

Manchester City made history this evening by winning the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

Pep Guardiola’s side travelled to Istanbul aiming to secure the European crown. With Rodri’s second half goal, City banished the memories of two years ago when they lost out to Chelsea in the 2021 final.

In winning the Champions League, the Blues also sealed the treble. The Premier League title has been claimed for the fifth time in six years, while City beat Manchester United at Wembley last weekend to lift the FA Cup.

City were far from their best in Istanbul against a solid Inter side, but Rodri’s second half goal was enough to seal the win and write City’s name in football history.
