A 28-year-old man was killed by an armed gang said to have launched an attack on a section of the Sarikyikura and Ejura stretch, according to a police source.

The incident occurred around midnight on Friday (12 March 2022) when the victim, whose name was given as Moro, was riding an unregistered motorbike from Sarikyikura towards Ejura, it is gathered.

“When he reached a section of the road not far from World Vision, the armed men shot at his face, killing him instantly. The officers also found a tractor loaded with timber logs, a tricycle, and two motorbikes at the scene. It is gathered that their owners may have encountered the robbers as well”, the police source indicated.

The body of the deceased was later conveyed to the Ejura Government Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

This latest incident comes at a time the police in the Ashanti Region are searching for a robbery gang said to have killed a nine-year-old girl during an attack on March 9, 2022.

The police said it will rely on the general public for credible information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
