The government through the Transport Ministry has announced the reintroduction of the visa-on-arrival for passengers to Ghana during this festive season.

The decision, according to the Ministry, was made in consultation with the Foreign Affairs, Interior, Tourism Ministries, Ghana Immigration Service and the Ghana Tourism Authority.

In a letter addressed to all airlines, the Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah said the initiative commences from Friday 1 December to Sunday 14 January 2024.

“Consequently, it would be appreciated if systems are updated to reflect this new arrangement and those responsible for checking-in passengers traveling to Ghana advised not to insist on entry visas prior to their boarding,” the statement read.
