The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has denied allegations of involvement in the recent deaths of three individuals in Sabongari, a community in the Upper East Region town of Bawku.
The statement issued on Saturday (20 January) comes in response to the killing of one Issah Halidu on January 12th, which triggered escalating violence in the area.
The GAF acknowledges the rising tensions and tragic loss of life but categorically denies any connection to the subsequent deaths, clarifying that the assailants responsible for the recent attack were never held in their custody.
The military has expressed regret over the deaths and cautioned against direct engagement with its personnel, emphasizing the potentially fatal consequences and urging all parties to cooperate in finding a peaceful resolution to the situation in Bawku.
