The Ghana Police Service has filed an injunction at an Accra High Court in a bid to prevent the upcoming #DumsorMustStop demonstration.

The move follows the Accra Region Police Command’s earlier advice to the organizers to consider relocating the protest venue and adjusting its timing.

Scheduled for Saturday (25 May), the demonstration has faced scrutiny due to its proposed location at Revolution Square, near the Jubilee House, the seat of government and a designated security zone.

The police recommended moving the protest to Independence Square and expressed concerns about the midnight conclusion, which they warned could escalate tensions and lead to violence.

This event marks the second major protest against erratic power supply in Ghana, with the first held in 2015, led by celebrities including Yvonne Nelson.
