Relegation battling side, Legon Cities FC drew 1-1 at home in the Ghana Premier League week 24 at the El Wak Park against Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC.

The host had to come from a goal down to pick up a precious point in their quest to move out from the relegation zone in the ongoing 2022-23 season.

Kotoko started the game very well and created some good chances in the first opening minutes of the match but couldn’t hurt the host.

Twenty minutes into the game, Kotoko were awarded a spot kick which was expertly converted by their captain Richard Boadu to give the away team the lead.

There were a few opportunities that came the way of both teams but no goal was recorded again in the first half.

In the second half of the match, Legon Cities upped their game knowing that they are deep in the relegation fight to salvage something from the game.

Finally, their efforts was rewarded in the second half of the match on the 70th minute mark when Alex Aso formerly of Inter Allies grabbed the equalizer to make it 1-1.

Richmond Lamptey was handed a glorious chance in the dying embers of the match to win all three points for the Porcupine Warriors but blew his shot way off target.

Kotoko will host In-form Real Tamale United FC in the week 25 clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday evening.

Legon Cities FC will travel to the Dun’s in Bibiani to take on Gold Stars FC in their next game.
