Ghana star Mohammed Kudus makes UEFA Champions League ‘Official’ Team-Of-The-Week

Ghana star midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been named by UEFA in the Team of the Week after the first round of the Champions League.

The Ajax player, who has been drafted into the team as a midfielder but played in the striker against Rangers (4-0) in the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Wednesday evening, put in an impressive performance and made the 3-0 in a phenomenal way.

The starting position of Kudus at Ajax was surprising, as the expectation was that Brian Brobbey would play in the point of the attack. Trainer Alfred Schreuder chose the Ghanaian anyway and that choice paid off.

After Edson Álvarez headed in the 1-0 and Steven Berghuis was lucky enough to score the second Ajax goal, it was up to Kudus to show himself.

He got rid of two opponents in one move, also showed James Tavernier his heels and fired the ball with the left through the inside of the post into the high far corner.

UEFA also noticed that Kudus played well. They included him in the Team of the Week after the first round of the million-dollar ball.

The Ajax player is set up as a midfielder, but that seems to have to do with the fact that Robert Lewandowski has been placed in the striker.

Leroy Sané, Rúben Dias and João Cancelo are also in the team. With Marcus Edwards, who once played on loan for Excelsior and took his Sporting Portugal by the hand on Wednesday evening, there is also a former Eredivisie player in the team.

The Ghanaian also won the Man-Of-The-Match award following his goal and assist in Ajax thumping win.
