Steadfast FC, a Division One side in Ghana, stands to gain a significant windfall of €7.9 million should Fatawu Issahaku make a move to Leicester City during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The talented winger, currently on loan at Leicester from Sporting CP, could seal a permanent deal worth €17 million if certain conditions are met. These conditions include Issahaku featuring in 60% of games for Leicester and the club securing promotion.

Although Leicester faces a transfer embargo due to financial infractions in the 2022/23 season, they are keen on securing Issahaku’s services permanently.

Upon completing the purchase, Steadfast FC is entitled to half of the value gained on the transfer, as per agreements in place. This means that both Steadfast and Sporting CP would share the proceeds equally, resulting in a substantial financial boost for both clubs.

Issahaku’s contributions to Leicester’s success in winning the Championship title cannot be understated, having scored 6 goals and provided 13 assists throughout the season.

Steadfast FC, under the ownership of Ghanaian politician Haruna Iddrisu, shares ties with Ghana Premier League club Karela United, further highlighting the interconnectedness of football and politics in the region.
