Gunmen open fire on two off-duty policemen in Trassacco, Accra

The Ghana Police Service has reported a distressing incident that unfolded at Trassacco Valley in Accra, where two off-duty officers were targeted and shot by unidentified assailants. The tragic event transpired on Thursday, May 2.

In an official statement, the Police revealed their pursuit of the perpetrators, stating, “The Ghana Police Service is on a manhunt for two gunmen who fatally shot two off-duty Police officers sitting in front of their private residence at Block factory, East Trassacco, Accra, today Thursday 2nd May 2024 at about 6:00pm.”

Highlighting the nature of the attack, the statement continued, “The gunmen did not take anything from the victims and sped off on a motorbike.”

Underscoring their commitment to apprehending the suspects, the Police asserted, “An intelligence-led operation to get the suspects arrested is currently ongoing.”
