Ghana’s senior national team the Black Stars have kicked off their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations campaign on a high note with a 2-0 win over South Africa on home soil.
Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid netted the first goal of the match on the 35th minutes with a powerful pile driver outside the box to give Ghana the lead.
The first half ended 1-0 in Ghana’s favor.
Ghana continued from where they left off in the first half with a dominant display from the young Ghanaian team.
Former Black Satellites midfield gem Mohan Kudus of Denmark side FC Nordsjaelland replaced the struggling Alfred Duncan 62nd minutes for his debut.
The 29-year-old dynamic midfielder scored Ghana’s second goal on the night with a thunderbolts strike inside the goal area with his weaker foot.
