I don’t play for personal glory – Kotoko’s Abege

Asante Kotoko’s Ugandan striker, George Abege, has voiced out about concerns raised by some journalists about his style of play.

Speaking to Dailymailgh.com Sports after his first match as a Kotoko player last Sunday against Burkinabe champions Rahimo FC, the lanky attacker explained why he drops to the midfield to help his colleagues as well as being selfless anytime he is on the ball.

“I don’t go for personal glories, I always go for what the team has in place and whatever role the coach assigns me,” he said.

“I am going to play for Kotoko and most of the time in my ability, I believe that whatever I do, I do it for the team and not for my personal glory,” Abege added.

The 25-year-old Ugandan marksman joined Kotoko from Kenyan top-flight side Kariobangi Sharks this summer on a four-year deal.
