Ghana’s Black Stars were beaten to a pulp by the Young United States of America team in Nashville in an international friendly game.
The Black Stars were put to the sword by the Americans when they got thrashed after another shocking, embarrassing, disgraceful, disgusting and spineless display.
The Americans beat the Ghanaian team without breaking a bone as they swept aside the uninspring Black Stars team with an amazing, eye-catching and scintillating performance.
Germany Bundesliga giant Borussia Dortmund youngster Giovanni Reyna needed just ten minutes of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up after a shambolic defending from Nicholas Opoku.
He lashed home from close range after the France based Center-back failed to clear his lines properly.
The Americans got their second goal through former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea FC forward Christian Pulisic who converted a spot kick conceded by left-back Gideon Mensah after just nineteen minutes.
Three minutes later, Falorin Balogun got his name on the score sheet after another mistake by two defenders Jerome Opoku who’s making his debut and Gideon Mensah to make it 3-0 halfway through the opening 45 minutes of the match.
Giovanni Reyna got his second goal of the match six minutes away from the break with a cool and brilliant strike from an indirect free-kick to make it 4-0.
Ghana got its first shot on target three minutes to the end of the first 45 minutes of the match when Kudus Mohammed worked the American goalkeeper Matt Turner.
The first half ended in a humiliating 4-0 scoreline.
George Weah, the president of Liberia’s son Timothy Wear came close to making it 5-0 against the Stars team who produced a lackadaisical performance throughout the match.
Ghana brought on Kingsley Schindler to replace Gideon Mensah in the second half of the match with Salis Abdul Samed Elisha Owusu also coming on after the hour mark but nothing changed for the Ghanaians.
Later in the game, Ernest Nuamah of Olympic Lyon and Antoine Semenyo of English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth came on to take the places of Inaki Williams and Kudus Mohammed.
Nevertheless, the defense of the Americans wasn’t shaken as they comfortably saw off their Ghanaian counterparts to win the game with a comfortable 4 – 0 scoreline.
Ghana will face Madagascar on November 15, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi for the first game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers before traveling to take on Comoros in three days later.
