Karela United lost 0-1 to Kumasi Asante Kotoko at home on Friday.

Former captain of Karela, William Opoku Mensah scored the only goal of the game to put the Porcupine Warriors at the summit of the Ghana Premier League table.

Mensah finished off a fine move by the Red and Whites under two minutes to put the visitors ahead at the Tarkwa Akoon Park in the opening game of the Ghana Premier League 2019-20 season week 13.

The home team played better after going a goal down but were denied the equalizer through the brilliance of Kotoko’s Kwame Baah.

The host have not been doing well in the league and have been in the relegation zone after picking 10 points in their opening 13 games of the season.

Kotoko have now won back-to-back games in the league after they achieved the feat in their first two games of the season and are now top of the Ghana Premier League 2019-20 season after 13 matches with 24 points, one above Medeama, Aduana and Chelsea who are all on 23 points with a game in hand.
