Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel has reaffirmed its commitment to providing a distinctive luxury to its guests and stakeholders as the hotel cements its place as the most luxurious in West and Central Africa.

The five-star hotel was recently named the “Most Luxurious Hotel and Conference centre in West and Central Africa” at the World Luxury Hotel Awards.

The World Luxury Hotel Awards is a recognised global organisation providing luxury hotels with recognition for their world-class facilities and service excellence provided to guests.

Responding to the award, Anne Murungi, director of sales and marketing, Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel said “it is an honour for us to win this award.”

She said Kempinski really deserved this because “We have the largest ballroom in Ghana with an ultra-modern conferencing facility. We have a total of 15 meeting rooms, 269 accommodation rooms with 24 of them being suites.

“This makes the hotel a very flexible and ideal MICE destination. Over and above this, the hotel is beautiful, and our standards are consistent,” Murungi added.

Promoting the Ghana brand

The director of sales and marketing said Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel is committed to encouraging and promoting the Ghana brand despite being an international brand.

“One unique preposition with Kempinski as a brand is each hotel blends and adapts some feature of the destination it is in. For instance, if you look around the hotel, we have some amazing artworks by very talented artists in Africa. Despite being an international brand there is always a local dish in every buffet set-up. Most of our food and beverage ingredients are sourced locally.

“We have a very well established training academy which all our staff are enrolled into and this has seen a great skill and talent developed amongst the team members 99% of whom are Ghanaians,” she added.

Keeping the promise

Anne Murungi said the hotel will continuously strive to lead in luxury hotel experience, adding “We are happy to have a presence here [Ghana]. Business has been tough world over in 2020 so we cannot say that the situation has been unique to us. We remain consistent in our offering and keep to our brand promise.

Opened in 2015, Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City is synonymous with unrivalled five-star luxuries in Accra and has fast become the preferred hotel for discerning and savvy guests alike.

It boasts of 269 individually designed rooms and suites inspired by the warmth of the African sun and features beautiful hardwood floors, luxuriant textiles and carefully selected art pieces celebrating the heritage of Ghana.

The hotels top-class service and style has seen it adjudged the Luxury Facility of the Year by the Ghana Tourism Authority, commanding reverence and setting the standard for luxury hotels within the country.
