Deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei-Asare has officially announced her intention to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the Atiwa East Constituency in the Eastern Region.
This comes after some youth groups, in an inspiring act of generosity, took the initiative to sponsor the sitting MP’s candidacy as the party opens nominations for the January 27 contest.
It is the final internal election organized by the governing party ahead of the 2024 polls.
In a Facebook post, Osei-Asare expressed her gratitude and overwhelming emotions towards the community’s gesture.
She further acknowledged the efforts of the “phenomenal men and women” and the dedicated market women who not only secured her parliamentary nomination forms but also covered the filing fee.
“Your actions reflect the strength and kindness of our community, and I am deeply touched by your belief in my service and commitment to our beloved Atiwa East”, the post read.
She expressed her excitement to continue the journey of growth and development in Atiwa East, a testament to her unwavering dedication to the welfare of the constituency.
“Your support has been my fuel, and I humbly ask once again for your trust and vote. Together, let’s strive for a brighter future and a more prosperous Atiwa East”, she stated.
