The campaign to endorse the Member of Parliament for Atiwa East Abena Osei-Asare is gathering momentum ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries.

The latest to join this campaign are market women in the Eastern Region town who have implored delegates to retain the MP to spearhead development in the area.

Osei-Asare who has been tipped to win the 27 January race has intensified her campaign as she seeks a fourth term bid. The elated market women who spoke to the media during the MP’s recent visit to Anyinam pledged to support her developmental agenda.

“We are asking delegates not to be influenced by anyone. Abena Osei-Asare is the one we know. She is the best candidate to lead and we are asking the electorates to vote massively for her”, one of the market women said.

“Her commitment to improving the lives of the people is evident for people to see. Her contribution to the economy of Anyinam is evident for people to see. She has spearheaded a lot of projects here and job initiatives for our children and that for me makes her the best candidate to lead this constituency”, another stated.

The parliamentary primaries will be held across 108 Constituencies with sitting MPs countrywide. It is the last internal election ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The party has already issued guidelines to govern the election supervised by the Electoral Commission.
