Athletic Club’s star player, Inaki Williams, won’t be playing for Ghana in the upcoming friendly games against Nigeria and Uganda. Ghana’s new coach, Otto Addo, picked a squad of 26 players, but Inaki Williams, along with Majeed Ashimeru and Joseph Paintsil, didn’t make the cut.

Instead, players like David Akologo, Ibrahim Osman, Nathaniel Adjei, and Diomande Mohammed will be getting their first chance to play for Ghana. Frederick Asare, the goalkeeper for Asante Kotoko, also got called up.

The games will be in Marrakech, Morocco, and they mark the start of Otto Addo’s leadership. Tariq Lamptey from Brighton and Hove Albion is back in the squad after being injured during the Africa Cup of Nations.

Other players returning to the team include Patrick Kpozo, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Edmund Addo. The squad also features familiar faces like Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Osman Bukari, Samed Abdul Samed, and Elisha Owusu.

Ghana will play Nigeria first on March 22, followed by a match against Uganda four days later.
