A Kumasi Circuit Court has ordered prosecution in the case of three students of the Opoku Ware School accused of robbing a taxi driver in the Ashanti Regional capital, to file witness statements.

This will enable the presiding judge Abdul Razak Musah to commence with a case management conference.

The court on Thursday (September 1) also asked the prosecution to file and serve the accused and their lawyer with the witness statements.

The suspects Akwasi Adu Donkor, Raphael Owusu Appiah, and Osei Kwadwo Asubonteng – all final year students of the Opoku Ware School (OWASS) – attacked and attempted to rob the Kumasi-based cabdriver on August 11.

They have pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, and unlawful damage. Each of them has been granted an ¢80,000 bail.

The case has been adjourned to October 6.
