Resign from National Cathedral Board – Ablakwa takes on Rev Kusi Boateng over ‘criminal multiple identities’

North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is calling for the immediate resignation of the founder of the Power Chapel Worldwide from the National Cathedral Board of Trustees.

Ablakwa alleges that Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng as the Secretary of the Board created multiple identities on the blind side of the state; an act he deems as criminal.

In a Facebook post on Monday, the MP alleged that Mr Kusi Boateng disguised his identity as ‘Kwabena Adu Gyamfi’; a name he used in registering a company (JNS Talent Centre Limited), which received payments from the National Cathedral Secretariat.

In his view, this amounts to a conflict of interest, hence the need for the preacher to resign to pave the way for investigations into what he says is a fraudulent act.

“For the avoidance of doubt, there is no distinct Kwabena Adu Gyamfi. Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is a criminal creation of Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng. The two are therefore one and the same.

“Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng AKA Kwabena Adu Gyamfi thought he had outwitted every Ghanaian, particularly our authorities whom he dribbled for many years; but the day of reckoning is finally here.

“From unassailable and irreproachable documents in my possession, Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng AKA Kwabena Adu Gyamfi uses multiple passports and multiple identification cards with different names and different dates of birth as his special modus operandi”, Mr Ablakwa alleged.

Earlier, Mr Ablakwa raised concerns about the authenticity of JNS Talent Centre, the company which had purportedly received an amount of GHS2.6 million from the National Cathedral.

In a Facebook post last week, he questioned the credibility of the company and the basis for the payment of the said amount.

In his post, he stated that per his findings, the company had three directors, namely Johannes Eshun, Sheila Eshun and Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

Even though he was able to unravel the identities of Johanne Eshun as a spiritual son of Rev Kusi-Boateng and Sheila Eshun, he could not find out who Kwabena Adu Gyamfi was.

This subsequently caused him to probe further, leading to his alleged exposé that Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is no other person than Rev. Kusi Boateng himself.

Apart from calling on the theologian to resign, he demanded that “Rev. Victor Adu Gyamfi AKA Kwabena Adu Gyamfi must be compelled to refund all taxpayer funds diverted into his company, JNS”.

Mr Ablakwa further intimated that “Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng AKA Kwabena Adu Gyamfi must be subjected to thorough credible investigations and prosecution for his many other offences which allegedly have now come to light”.

He also called on President Akufo-Addo to dissolve the National Cathedral Board in the wake of his revelations; adding that, a ‘special forensic audit’ must be conducted into the project at large.

The revelations and demands by the NDC lawmaker come in the midst of lingering public debates about the relevance of the National Cathedral project.

According to the project’s critics, even though they recognise the need to honour God, the timing of the project is not prudent.

In their view, given the prevailing economic crisis in the country, it is needless for government to focus on such a project in the face of the glaring hardship and the depleting macroeconomic variables.

The critics have further argued that the project is a personal campaign promise of President Akufo-Addo and therefore state resources should be allocated to its execution.

Meanwhile, proponents of the project, including Victor Kusi Boateng, have maintained that the Cathedral will benefit the country in many valuable ways.

In multiple justifications for the project, the advocates of the Cathedral have stated that when completed, it will serve as a tourist destination to help generate revenue for the country.

This they say is one of the reasons why the novel project must not be stifled with opposition and ridicule.
