Retired Commissioner of Police, George Alex Mensah, has successfully navigated the party’s vetting process and has expressed strong confidence in securing victory.

With four contenders vying for the Bekwai seat, including Raph Poku-Adusei, Kingsley Opoku Agyemang, and Henry Opoku-Ware, the competition is expected to be stiff.

However, COP George Alex Mensah, who picked ‘number 1’ on the ballot, is optimistic about not only winning but also bringing unity to the party in the constituency.

He outlined his vision for the community and emphasised the importance of unity within the party to “break the 8,” a reference to the party’s goal.

“I am going to do everything that I have to do to bring improvement to the community,” the retired police chief said, indicating a commitment to positive change.

“With the percent that I am going to get, it should be more than 60 percent,” he added.

As the race unfolds, the competition among the four contenders is expected to generate heightened political activity in Bekwai.

The outcome of the NPP primaries in the constituency will play a crucial role in shaping the political landscape as the contenders vie for the opportunity to represent the party in the upcoming general elections.
