Robbers kill good Samaritan in a motorbike theft

A 34-year-old man, named as Christopher Kwaku Boadi, has been shot and killed after he reportedly tried to wrestle armed thieves who robbed another man of his motorbike, Dailymailgh.com has learnt.

The incident happened just before 8:00pm on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the outskirts of Behenase, a community near Jacobu in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.

According to the robbery victim named as Kofi Akorsah, he was attacked by the gun-wielding men who snatched his motorbike in the process when he reached the outskirts of Fiakoma, another community near Jacobu.

He said the deceased and some Behenase town folks, mobilised and gave the robbers a hot chase after they got wind of the information.

The deceased who saw one of them entering the bush, followed him with the intent of arresting him, according to Police at the Jacobu District Command.

“The robber who realized the deceased was closing up on him, suddenly shot on his forehead killing him instantly”, a police incident report sighted by Dailymailgh.com read.

Police said in the statement that two motorbikes with registration numbers M-19 AS 7058 and M-19 AS 7122 has since been retained.

Crime scene investigators who were called to the scene have deposited the remains of the deceased at the St. Peter’s Catholic Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.

His family has since been informed of the incident.

Detectives are actively working on leads in the investigation.
