A total of seven suspects were in police custody in connection with the killing of the owner of the Royal Cosy Hill Hotel at Jirapa in the Upper West Region, commonly known as ‘Jirapa Dubai.’

Initially, the police had five suspects in custody, and two more were arrested on Sunday night, bringing the total to seven.

The suspects, all employees of the hotel, were apprehended after the owner, Eric Johnson, was found dead in his private apartment at the hotel and safari park premises on Sunday, February 11.

The police identified the two new suspects as Charles Tuoze and Favour Nuobe.

The other five suspects, Dookuuri Fausta, Braimah Kasim, Beyuo Felix, and Michael Klugey, were also employees at the Cosy Hill Hotel. They have been in police custody since the investigation began, along with suspect Kumbata Kwaku, who was arrested earlier on Sunday.

While the police continue their investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice, discussions among Jirapa residents suggest a possible link between the death and a chieftaincy dispute.
