The Attorney General’s (AG) Department has asked Criminal Investigators to conduct further investigations into the death of Kumasi-based businesswoman Stella Afia Ahenkan.
This was contained in its advice as fresh details have emerged that telephone conversations of the second accused person reveal the potential involvement of other suspects in the case.
The suspect James Anokye had initially pushed for his freedom but that was turned down by the Asokore Mampong District Court. The development means the suspect would remain in custody as police pursue the other suspects.
James Anokye and the key suspect John Allister were arrested, charged and arraigned over the murder of the late Stella Afia Ahenkan in September this year.
In court on Tuesday (28 November) State Prosecutor ASP Stephen Ofori prayed the court presided over Samuel Buabin Quansah to adjourn proceedings as police advance their investigations.
The judge granted the request and remanded the suspects into custody.
