The Asokwa Circuit Court has granted a ¢50,000 bail to Suame NDC youth organizer Razak Koampa Avoliya.

This was after his Lawyers pushed for his release on Tuesday after he was charged for allegedly inciting political violence in a viral video.

Mr Avoliya has also been ordered by Fred Obikyere’s court to present two sureties as part of the bail conditions. The 32-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the charge of Offensive conduct conducive to the breaches of the peace, as stated in Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, (Act 29).

The court ordered the prosecution to file disclosures within 18 days for a case management conference after it indicated to the court that investigations have completed.

“Thankfully, the judge has granted our brother (Koampa Razak) bail and we are thankful to the Judiciary and the judge for granting our brother bail and understanding the position that we were coming from”, Defence Lawyer Evans Amankwah told journalists.

“The condition is also good that we are executing the bail at the registry of the court. We are to come to court on the 9th of March. The court has ordered that the prosecution serves us will be at their disclosures so that we can start the trial”, he said.

The suspect is to appear on March 9.
