A multi-purpose dining hall which serves students of the Ullo SHS in Jirapa in the Upper West Region has been gutted by fire.
The incident happened on Tuesday dawn, prompting an emergency response. Firefighters who were deployed to battle the blaze saw the structure already in ruins.
Items including perishables, books and other stationery materials have been destroyed.
This comes days after an inferno destroyed the girls’ dormitory of the Eremon Senior High Technical School in the Upper West Region. The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
A community member who spoke on condition of anonymity said the situation has affected academic work as the school calls for immediate intervention.
