Yaw Kwakwa: Akufo-Addo sacks Ghana Airports Company boss

President Nana Akufo-Addo has sacked the MD of Ghana Airports Company Limited, Yaw Kwakwa.

A letter from the Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah indicated that the President  has directed that the MD’s appointment is terminated since 31 January 2022.

“His Excellency the President, per letter No. 0P S127/22/104, dated 31st January 2022, has directed the appointment of Mr Yaw Kwakwa as Managing Director of the Ghana Airport’s Company Limited be terminated,” a letter signed by Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah said.

The reason for his dismissal was not clear, however, he has been in the news recently over the launch of a private jet terminal at the airport owned by business magnate McDan.
