Member of Parliament for Atiwa East Abena Osei-Asare dedicated her Christmas to bringing joy and support to children in the Eastern Region town.
Amidst the festivities and merriment that characterize the Christmas season, Osei-Asare chose to spend time with the over 1,000 kids and their parents.
This annual event sponsored by the lawmaker embodies the true essence of the season – generosity and compassion.
Accompanied by family members and constituency executives of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), the three-day event kicked off at the community park at Ehiawoanwu on Thursday (28 December).
The train continued to bring cheer to kids and their parents at Enyiresi on Friday and ended at Anyinam the following day.
The elated little boys and girls were treated to some fine Ghanaian music, as well as assorted food. They also played with the bouncy castle, trampoline, fun-train, among other outdoor games.
Abena Osei-Asare also distributed thousands of books, pens and other stationery to the children.
Speaking at one of the events, the lawmaker highlighted the importance of this party and the need to embrace this festive season.
“It’s not just about the fun but it’s about the understanding of why Jesus came into the world. I want to use this occasion to implore the kids to cultivate the act of obedience, respect for your parents and love each other”, she said.
“And it did not end with the children, we have already visited our traditional rulers as well as the Christian and the Muslim community. This is to convey my appreciation and gratitude to my constituents for their prayers and the support they have shown all these years and this, for me, is my motivation”, she added.
