The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency in the Upper East Region Isaac Adongo has been adjudged the most influential Economist of the 7th parliament of the 4th republic by the Pan African Heroes Foundation.

The award, according to the citation, is in recognition of the legislator’s contribution to the work of parliament over the years.

Speaking at the presentation of the award in his office in parliament Mr. Adongo stated he is greatly touched by the gesture especially given the fact that he did not start out a trained economist. According to the minority member of the finance committee in Ghana’s parliament, his quest to ensure the ordinary Ghanaian understands matters of the economy in the simplest of languages of the jargons is what drives him.

The Bolgatanga Central MP disclosed his seeming silence after the Town Hall meeting of Vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is deliberate. The decision is to afford him the opportunity to fill in the void after listening to various commentaries about the Veep’s address. Consequently, Mr. Adongo revealed he will be delivering series of lectures on the state of health of Ghana’s economy starting from Kumasi and later outside the shores of Ghana including countries like the USA.

The Pan African Heroes Foundation is an organization which acknowledges and projects the image of self-motivated personalities whose activities support livelihood which contributes to the socio-economic growth with high potential to champion the cause of communal and national development.
