The High Court has adjourned till October 23, the trial of Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, the policeman accused of killing his girlfriend at Adum in Kumasi.

This was due to the absence of the counsel for the accused person when the case was called on Friday (13 October).

The suspect was arrested, charged and arraigned over the shooting incident that led to the death of Victoria Dapaah, aka Maadwoa on Thursday (April 20). He had pleaded “not guilty” to murder charges, thereby prompting the commencement of trial.

The bereaved family has already launched a strong call for action to deal with the increasing ‘women killings’ in the Ashanti region. They are praying the court to expedite a speedy trial in the interest of justice.
