Ghanaian international will play no part when Leicester City play as guests to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup at St. James Park Wednesday evening.
Amartey, who is destined for a summer departure from the fold of the Foxes, is still battling to be fit and is not in the matchday squad.
“He (Amartey) hasn’t been able to train fully all of the time,” Manager Brendan Rogers stated ahead of the game.
“With the ankle problem that he had, there’s still a bit soreness there from time to time.”
The versatile Ghanaian player has been linked with a loan move to Club Brugge and Trabzonspor in the ongoing transfer window.
