The Municipal Chief Executive of the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly, Sandra O. Ahinkorah has cut sod for the reconstruction of some old and damaged roads in her municipality.
The ground breaking ceremony was graced by the director of political affairs at the presidency Mr. Asiedu Bekoe (Protozoa) and the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia S. Alhassan.
Also in attendance were the Chiefs and people of Shiashie.
In her address the MCE, disclosed that the 5 kilometres of roads was being funded by purely internally generated funds (IGF) at the cost of
Gh 2,993,199.06. She disclosed that places to benefit from the roads reconstruction includes Shiashie, Dzorwulu, Westlands, East Legon and Roman Ridge.
Madam Ahinkra used the occasion to appeal to residents and business owners of the area to pay their taxes and tolls and assured them that the assembly will use them judiciously and into projects that will benefit them directly.
Mr. Asiedu Bekoe on his part talked about the achievements of HE Nana Addo Danquah and the fact that he is a clearing agent who is clearing the mess of the immediate past government.
The MP for the Constituency thanked the good people of Ayawaso West and promised to partner with the MCE to bring real development to the people.
The Chiefs on their part thanked the MP and MCE for the numerous development projects that is ongoing under them.
The chiefs could not hide their excitement and pledged their support to the MP and MCE at all times.
The contractor, Elex Investments Ltd has three months to complete the project.
