He wwas as solid as rock at the back of defense for Ghana and barely gave the Nigeria attackers a sniff at goal with some excellent defending.
He ggave most talked about in-form Africa striker, Víctor Osimhen of SS Napoli so little chances on the ball and closed every gap and space in-between the defense line.
Djiku threw his body at any missile released by the Nigerians and proved once again why he’s making a big name for himself in the French Ligue 1.
He blocked vital attempted shots on goal by the Nigerians and was always on point and first to the ball throughout the game.
His last ditch tackles was as perfect as it could ever get and made sure Ghana kept a clean sheet in the all important game.
His intellegent and seeking passing from the back even in tight angles proved very crucial in Ghana’s bulid up play throughout the 90 minutes of football against top class attackers.
He reminded Ghanaians of the good old John Mensah as Ghana kept a clean sheet for the first time in five successive matches.
The ssecond leg is on Tuesday, March 29 in Abuja which kickoffs at 5pm.
