The acting General Manager of GHOne TV, Nana Aba Anamoah, has defended Ghanaian TV presenter Serwaa Amihere after fans troll her for an interview with the Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah on the station.

Amihere, in an interview with Mr. Nkrumah quizzed Government’s enforcement of the Justice Emile Short Commission’s recommendations on the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency by-election violence.

But she appeared totally clueless about the specific recommendations to the case she was referring.

However, the information Minister noticing that, took advantage of her limited knowledge to pin her down with hard pushing questions on the specific recommendations she was talking about.

Amihere could not give any recommendations from the Commission’s pinksheet nor the Akufo-Addo’s Government white paper on the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency by-election violence that she claimed Ghanaians say the Government had not been able to fulfill.

The well cherished TV Presenter was judged on social media after parts of the interview went viral, with users insulting her saying she didn’t conduct the interview well because proper research wasn’t done.

They also added that, she virtually became an interviewee instead of the interviewer, with Mr. Nkrumah comfortably laying back and asking basic questions on the issue which she could not answer except to sit back and watch the minister school her on the matter.

Personalities including communication expert Kwame Gyan told Serwaa on Twitter “Serwaa paaaaa. You failed the Fundamentals of journalism- research b4 interviews. And when you are caught off guard you say we should ignore the lopsided kominini of party fanatics. Sister, the same effort you put in your looks before a TV show, do same with research.”

In response, serwaa said “don’t be taken in by the lopsided claims of party fanatics. I pressed him on the AWW Commission report. Sidestepping questions is a usual practice.”

Meanwhile, the acting Manager and mentor of Amihere was also of the view that the interview was well conducted and people were judging the show host after watching just excerpts, she wrote “Do yourselves a favour and watch the full interview conducted by @Serwaa_Amihere. Discerning people appreciated her questions and Kojo’s responses. Sit on twitter and do follow follow. It was a great interview thoroughly enjoyed by clear-eyed folks.”
