Ghana duo Mensah and Afful play full throttle in Colombus Crew draw

Black Stars central defender Jonathan Mensah and former Ghana left-back Harrison Afful saw 99 minutes in Colombus Crew away drawn game with Vancouver Whitecaps in the Major League Soccer.

The pair were solid at the back throughout the game with some pivotal blocking and defensive displays in the game.

Colombus Crew took an early lead in the game on the 17th minutes when Ghanaian-born American Gyasi Zardes converted a spot kick to put his side in front.

The two Ghanaian defenders were on the alert anytime the Colombus Crew defense was under intense pressure.

Vancouver Whitecaps got their equalizer in the 90th minute after Afful failed to prevent a pull-out from his side of defense as Ali Adnan inch perfect cross met the head of Fredy Montero to head past the goalkeeper making it 1 – 1 draw game.
