Asante Kotoko won their second game out of the last three matches by beating Legon Cities 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon in match week 29 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

The victory didn’t come without some controversy. The first goal was scored from a penalty, which some people argued about. The second goal was a messy finish.

With this win, Asante Kotoko moved up two places on the table. They are now in ninth place with 40 points, up from eleventh.

On the other hand, Legon Cities dropped from tenth to eleventh place with 38 points. The two teams exchanged positions in the rankings.

Steven Mukwala scored the first goal for Asante Kotoko after 33 minutes. He converted a penalty, but there was some debate about whether it should have been given.

The referee thought a Legon Cities defender handled the ball on the goal line while falling, but it wasn’t clear to everyone.

Yussif Mohammed Nurudeen scored the second goal for Asante Kotoko just five minutes into the second half. It wasn’t a clean finish, but it got the job done.

After that, the game ended with Asante Kotoko winning 2-0. It was a good result for them.
