Ghanaian striker Abdul Aziz Yakubu showed his scoring skills as Rio Ave won 3-0 against Gil Vicente in a Liga Portugal match on Saturday.
The game took place at the Estádio do Rio Ave Futebol Clube. Before this match, Rio Ave had won 8 times against Gil Vicente’s 6 wins, with 7 draws.
Both teams started the game fighting for possession, but Rio Ave took control. In the 30th minute, João Teixeira scored a precise goal, putting Rio Ave in the lead with a perfect finish assisted by Joca.
Before the first half ended, Yakubu scored from a penalty calmly with his right foot, extending Rio Ave’s lead and showing their dominance.
Despite Gil Vicente’s efforts, Rio Ave kept dominating. In the 63rd minute, Joca secured the win with a well-placed shot, assisted by Fábio Ronaldo.
Yakubu has played 12 games and scored five goals in the Liga Portugal this season.
