Ghanaian youngster Issahaku Fatawu’s Champions League debut for Sporting ends in defeat

Ghana’s sensational teen Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s UEFA Champions League debut ended in a defeat to Olympic Marseille on Wednesday evening for Sporting CP Lisbon.

Fatawu came on in the first half after 22 minutes of the match to make his first ever appearance in the UEFA Champions League competition at home of the Portuguese team.

Sporting CP Lisbon were playing with a numerical disadvantage as they were reduced to 10 men very early in the game and came on to take the place of Hidemasa Morita to play on the left side for the Green and Whites outfit.

Sporting couldn’t contain Marseille and went 2-0 down to the away team inside the first 30 minutes of the match and were reduced to nine men in the second half of the match.

Sporting lost 2-0 and needs big result against Frankfurt and Tootenham to progress to the next round of the competition. Below is his stats from the game.
