Ghana captain Andre Ayew is set to return to the Black Stars setup after missing out on the last international window as Ghana face Madagascar and Comoros in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, according to 3Sports.

He has been a free agent since 1st July 2023 after leaving Premier League side Nottingham Forest upon the expiration of his short-term deal.

He missed out on Ghana’s squad for the last two friendly games against Mexico and USA where the team suffered back-to-back defeats.

The 33-year-old is the most capped player for Ghana with 115 appearances, scoring 24 goals.

3Sports also understands that Almeria midfielder Iddrisu Baba and Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru will be given the nod to return to the team.

Baba was given a 20 minute runout during the weekend his club lost 1-0 to Alaves in La Liga. Ashimeru returned to action in October after a three-month injury lay off.

Chris Hughton’s side will start the qualifying campaign against Madagascar on November 17 in Kumasi and travel to face Comoros four days later.
