Heart of Lions coach, Bashir Hayford, is optimistic about his team’s chances as they prepare to face Bibiani Goldstars in matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League.

The upcoming clash between Lions and Goldstars promises to be highly competitive, with both teams eager to secure valuable points. Lions will have the home advantage as they welcome Goldstars to the Kpando Stadium on Sunday.

Despite Lions’ strong performances under Hayford’s leadership, the club currently finds themselves in the relegation zone. They are currently in 17th place on the league table, with 21 points from their matches so far.

Following their recent defeat against Hearts of Oak, Hayford is determined to see his team bounce back and secure all three points against Goldstars. He emphasized the importance of maximizing their efforts, especially when playing on home turf.

“We are preparing for them, and hopefully, once we are also playing at home, we will make sure we double up our effort and get the three points,” said Hayford.

In their previous match against Hearts of Oak, Lions squandered a lead, ultimately losing 2-1 as their opponents staged a comeback victory. Despite this setback, Hayford remains confident in his team’s ability to perform.

Throughout the season, the Kpando-based club has secured four wins, along with nine draws and nine defeats, in their 22 matches in the domestic top-flight league.

As they prepare to face Goldstars, Lions will be aiming to capitalize on their strengths and rectify their weaknesses. With determination and a focused effort, they hope to secure a much-needed victory and climb up the league table.
