IMANI Ghana’s lawyers and security expert Kwasi Aning have initiated a new lawsuit regarding the executive’s appointment of certain security agency heads, withdrawing their previous filing at the Supreme Court.

On Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, the Supreme Court struck out the original suit after the Plaintiffs’ lawyers informed the Court of their decision to discontinue the case.

Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo, leading a panel of seven, criticized the publicity surrounding the case and its subsequent withdrawal as “really unacceptable” before the case was formally dismissed.
