Investigations have started to ascertain the cause of a huge blast that sparked fire—destroying properties at a tanker farm in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

At least 15 gas tankers have been badly destroyed following a fire outbreak at Kpone Wednesday night.

The tankers reportedly belong to the oil marketing company, Goodness Energy.

The fire broke out at about 8pm Wednesday, according to media reports.

Our correspondent who visited the scene Friday morning reports that police have since been deployed to the area—which has been cordoned off hours after firefighters doused the inferno.

The place has temporarily been closed while drivers have been asked to evacuate the area until further notice, reported our correspondent.
