Leap School, a privately owned institution in the Obuasi Municipality in the Ashanti Region, marked a significant milestone by hosting its fourth graduation ceremony for its dedicated students.

The event aimed to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of 92 learners who had persevered through their educational journey, from kindergarten to Primary and Junior High School levels.

It also served as a motivational platform, encouraging these students to aspire to greater heights in the world of education.

The ceremony was a vibrant spectacle, showcasing the diverse talents of the students through poetry recitals, music and dance performances, dramatic presentations, and a vibrant display of Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.

In a speech delivered on behalf of Leap School’s Director, Aboagye Ohene Adu, the Headteacher, Angela Asenso Obeng, highlighted the remarkable growth of the school.

With a student population of over 250, the school has thrived since its establishment a decade ago. She attributed this success to the invaluable contributions of parents, as well as the dedicated efforts of the school’s management and teachers.

Addressing the theme of the celebration, “Overcoming obstacles,” Madam Obeng acknowledged that the school had faced challenges in recent times, including the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the unfortunate passing of the school’s Proprietress, Nana Akua Ohene Adu.

Despite these obstacles, “we have been able to surmount them, and the school is back as a leading educational institution in Obuasi”, Obeng proudly stated.

She reiterated the school’s commitment to providing a holistic education that instils qualities enabling children to navigate the uncertainties of the future successfully.

Former Ashanti Regional Minister, John Alexander Ackon, commended Leap School for its significant contributions to educational advancement in Obuasi. He urged parents to take an active role in their children’s education by fulfilling their parental responsibilities, including assisting with homework and meeting their needs.

Emmanuel Adjei Danso, the Guidance and Counselling Coordinator of the Obuasi Municipal Education Directorate, represented the Education Director.

He emphasized the complexities and challenges students face in today’s world, stressing the importance of establishing guidance and counseling units in schools to address these issues and support students’ well-being and development.

Mr. Danso also called on parents to closely monitor their children’s lives outside of school to ensure their overall success and safety.
