NDC Primaries: Kofi Adams beats incumbent Buem MP

A former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kofi Adams will represent the party in the parliamentary race for the Buem constituency in the Oti region.

Mr. Adams secured 388 votes to defeat incumbent MP for the area, Daniel Kosi Ashaiman who had 280 votes. The others Ibrahim Adams Muniru and Daniel Adeapena polled 95 and nine votes respectively.

“As MP, I will work to unite the people of Buem in order to place them in the position for accelerated development and growth since unity is paramount to achieving these targets,” he said ahead of the internal polls.

In other results, the incumbent lawmaker for Ayawaso North, Mr Yusuf Issah Jahjah won to represent the NDC in the 2020 Parliamentary election in the constituency.

He obtained 557 votes out of the 814 votes cast. He beat former MP for the area, Dr Mustapha Ahmed, who managed 254 votes.
