PERSPECTIVE: See As You Please

0

“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses.”Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr, French critic

The sun: a gigantic, flaming ball which, pegged at a ‘cool’ 93,000,000 miles away from Earth, inhabitants of this planet ought to be thankful we’re not any closer to.

And yet, when captured expertly by a photographer, this very sun — even with its sheer size and heat — fits rather easily between mere human fingers, even settling comfortably into the palm.

The trick?

None, really; it’s all down to perspective.

If you manage to look beyond the sun’s gleam, however, there is a lesson to glean. See, any of life’s many troubles could strike us as massively and as intensely as the sun often does. In the face of such, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed — intimidated, even.

Adjust your focus, though, and — at just the right angle — you’d realize that the seemingly daunting problem is really no hotter/bigger to handle than the sun is when within the sights of an appropriately positioned camera.

In life, as in photography, perspective makes all the difference.
