Police hunt robbers who killed Chinese national in Ghana

The Ghana Police Service have declared a manhunt for robbers who allegedly killed a Chinese national in Asuboi (51km by road to the capital Accra) a community in the Eastern region.

One of six Chinese working on a Ghana government flagship programme called One District, One Factory project in the area was hit in the head and died during the robbery, the police said.

The robbers reportedly made away with 15,000 Chinese Yuan, Ghana Cedis 37,000 and a laptop.

The deputy Eastern Regional Police spokesperson Sergeant Francis Gomado said the robbers will be brought to book.

“As we speak, the police have launched a discrete investigation into the issue and we are pleading with the general public to assist us with credible and timely information that can lead to the arrest of these perpetrators of this crime,” he said.

Meanwhile, the police have intensified patrol in the area to ensure security.
