Two suspected robbers were gunned down during a shootout with policemen, an official statement has confirmed.
The Ghana Police Service in a Facebook update indicated that one of the suspects was arrested during the sustained operation — after a woman was shot and robbed by an armed gang at Caprice, a vicinity of Accra, last Friday (December 9).
“The robbers engaged the police in a shootout and in the process two were shot dead and one was arrested”, the Ghana Police Service said in a Facebook post but failed to name the suspect.
The police said one of its officers who sustained gunshot wounds in his thigh is receiving medical attention.
“The police intelligence operations continue to get the rest of the gang members arrested and we wish to assure the public that we will surely get them”, the statement said.
