Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has apologised to his fans in Ghana over his inability to show up at a much-talked about concert in Accra on Saturday (10 December).

“Ghana is a country I hold so dear to my heart,” Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun – popularly known as Wizkid – tweeted on Sunday. “First and foremost I wanna apologise to all my fans! Y’all know I would never do anything, without a serious reasoning behind it.”

He said there were safety and production concerns “that prevented me from putting on a high quality show that my fans deserve.”

Wizkid said he will make it up to his Ghanaian fans soon.

Meanwhile, event promoter, LiveHub Entertainment, has promised to refund monies for all paid tickets after Wizkid failed to perform at his headline concert at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The fans were highly disappointed in the organisers after the Nigerian superstar refused to honour the show.

According to LiveHub Nation, Wizkid breached his contractual obligation last night.

“We will issue FULL refunds to all who paid for tickets. Please send your barcode to thelivehuninfo@gmail.com,” the statement read.
